Lab Director
I have earned my PhD in Neural Computation from the Hebrew University in 2009. My thesis focused on studying perception and perceptual learning in the auditory modality, using behavioral experiments, brain recordings (EEG) and computational modelling.
In 2009, I joined Prof. Michael Merzenich (Prof. Emeritus, UCSF) and together we found the Brain Plasticity Institute (BPI), a San-Francisco based company focused on developing plasticity-based training programs for various clinical indications. During this tenure, I developed and studied web-based interventions to treat social cognition deficits in schizophrenia. Between 2011-2014, I completed my post-doctoral in UC Berkeley, under the joint supervision of Prof. Dennis Levi and Prof. Daphne Bavelier, where I studied the use of action video games in the treatment of amblyopia ('lazy eye'). Between 2014-2016, I served as the Director of R&D at Posit Science in San Francisco. At this capacity, I led the development and clinical testing of web-based and mobile tools designed to assess and treat brain deficits in clinical populations. In 2016, I joined the School of OT at the Hebrew University as a senior lecturer and the director of the Computerized Neurotherapy Lab. My current research focuses on the use of mobile tools to assess and change cognitive and emotional status, particularly in mental health related disorders.

Ornella Dakwar-Kawar

I completed my B.A studies in Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at University of Haifa. My academic work to date has focused on studying audio-visual perception by conducting behavioral experiments and using cutting edge neuroimaging methods (fMRI) to test the change in performance following a specific training. Work that was accomplished during my MA thesis (graduated Cum Laude), under the supervision of Prof. Amir Amedi at the Lab for Multisensory research, Department of Neurobiology, at the Hebrew University. As a speech and language pathologist I have clinical and research background which, in many ways, complement each other. My long-term research interests entail gaining a comprehensive understanding into the the effect of Non Invasive Brain Stimulation (e.g., tES) on Executive function at pediatric ADHD , by conducting behavioral and neural studies (using mobile EEG devices).

I am a learning disabilities specialist with a PhD in Cognitive and Brain Sciences from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. My main research interest is different cognitive functions of individuals with learning disabilities and/or ADHD.

Eliane Gefen

In October 2022, I joined the Computerized Neurotherapy Lab as a PhD student in a joint project between the Hebrew University and the University of Melbourne, under the supervision of Prof. Mor Nahum and Prof. Yafit Gilboa from the Hebrew University, and Dr. Amit Lampit from the University of Melbourne.
My research focuses on examining the effects of a combined cognitive intervention—which includes computerized cognitive training and group therapy based on functional goals—on cognition, mood, and daily functioning in adults over the age of 65 with depressive symptoms.
As a clinical occupational therapist, I primarily focus on functional, sensorimotor, and cognitive rehabilitation for adults of all ages. In addition, I work in cognitive therapy with individuals suffering from dementia and provide guidance to their families.

Reut Komemi

My name is Reut Komemi, and I am an occupational therapist specializing in treating individuals with mental health conditions. My doctorate is under the joint supervision of Prof. Mor Nahum and Dr. Lena Lipskaya-Velikovsky. My research focuses on investigating the contextual impact on behavioral and electrophysiological patterns of sustained attention in individuals with schizophrenia, as precursors to daily life functioning.

Tal Mentch Lifshits
PhD Student
Tal is an occupational therapist in a child development center, with expertise in children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ADHD and autism. Her doctorate, under the joint supervision of Prof. Mor Nahum and Dr. Judah Koller, will focus on the development and evaluation of an intervention program to reduce maladaptive RRBs and family accommodations, with emphasis on improving participation in daily living and the role of parental cognitive control in this context. Prior to her PhD, Tal received her MSc and BOT cum laude in the Faculty of Medicine, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Tal lives in Mazkeret-Batya with her family, enjoys traveling, playing the piano and spending time with family and friends.

I am a master's student in the applied neuropsycoholgy program at the Hebrew University. In the lab, I am involved in a research project that aims to examine the dynamic effects of pharmacological treatment for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) on inhibitory control. The study incorporates ecological momentary assessments in adults diagnosed with ADHD, in order to better understand the temporal impact of medication in real-life.
